Influences of my work

1.) Claudine Doury -  The Artek https://www.claudinedoury.com/artek#0

I love Doury's style of photography, this collection is my favorite of hers. She has a very whimsical/adolescent perspective on the world, even in places that have been ravaged by war.

2.) My grandfather has always been an inspiration to me. He uses mixed media forms to create mobiles that are typically suspended from the ceiling and he also use to do a lot of acrylic abstract paintings. his command of color is so imaginative and is a big reason why I am so drawn to shooting in more vivid colors.

3.) Watching Wes Anderson films growing up has definitely had an impact on my work, and I've only grown to appreciate his work from an artistic standpoint. I love the way he frames his scenes, they're so symmetrical despite how limited his angles are.

4.) Nan Goldin - The Ballad of Sexual Dependency https://www.moma.org/calendar/exhibitions/1651

I did my final project on this collection of pieces for my digital photography class. I love how personal her work is and how you feel like a voyeur in her more dangerous side of life. I also hold the concept of preserving the memory of people so closely, I think it's one of the greatest qualities of photography.

5.) Masaaki Miyazawa - Once Upon a White Night (gelatin silver print, 14 x 11 inches)

Miyazawa is one of my favorite black-and-white photographers. His work is very surreal and has a cool infrared effect to it.

6.) Siouxsie and the Banshees - Happy House

I love this band and how they shot this music video in particular. They have such a unique style and the way the camera maneuvers in the space is something I try to imitate when I photograph a space.

7.) These are just a few of the books I have in my dorm, but I also love to read.
